With it being the longest day of the year the sundoesnt usually set until nearly 10pm!
RSVP via this portal to register you interest so we can gauge numbers of those that will meet at Stoke Medway @9am for a 10am Sharp Departure for Old Warden. Based on this RSVP we will be organising disounted tickets so keep up to date and keep an eye on the reminder emails for this event!

AIRFIELD INFORMATION FOR PILOTS
Old Warden and the Shuttleworth Collection is a private, unlicensed aerodrome, situated in a rural area. The airfield is not inspected daily and the manoeuvring area is uneven, so please exercise caution. Airfield Information can be obtained at NATS Aeronautical Information Service
Radio frequency for Old Warden is 130.705Mhz.
Only Runway 03/21 is available to visiting aircraft. Please note that all other runways may be in use by resident aircraft and must be kept clear.
- Runway 21 is a Left-Hand circuit.
- Runway 03 is a Right-Hand circuit.
- Circuit Height is 800 feet.
All aircraft must do a standard overhead join at 1800 feet above aerodrome level and a full visual circuit before landing, making blind transmissions as appropriate on 130.705, as there may be people on the runway/airfield.
- Look out for any non-radio aircraft that may be in the circuit with you.
- Be aware that College Road (a private road), which crosses the airfield, is used by vehicles and pedestrians
- Confine all manoeuvring to the mown runways and taxiways.
When you have landed please park clear of the runways (between the Tower and the petrol pumps) and sign in at the Visitor Centre (mandatory). No landing fees apply.
All pilots use the aerodrome at their own risk and must PPR on 01767 627901 (you can still also use 01767 627927). Prior to telephoning for PPR it is assumed that the Shuttleworth terms and conditions (please read) are accepted.
If your journey originates from outside of the UK your GAR reference number will be requested when you PPR. For information on obtaining this please see the ‘GAR information’ section below.
AIRFIELD STATUSClosed to visitors until further notice due to waterlogging.
- RWY 03 THRESHOLD DESIGNATOR TEMPORARILY REMOVED. RWY THR DISPLACED BY 15M AND INDICATED WITH DISPLACED THRESHOLD MARKERS.
- LANDING AND TAKE OFF DISTANCES REDUCED TO 506M FOR BOTH RWY 03 AND RWY 21 DIRECTIONS.
- THE USABLE RWY REMAINS NORTH OF THE UNCONTROLLED PRIVATE ROAD CROSSING WHICH IS USED BY VEHICLES AND PEDESTRIANS
All airfield surfaces are soft and are not suitable for aircraft with higher wheel loadings (i.e. Piper Arrow, C182RG etc..) The surfaces remain very slippery therefore braking action is severely reduced. There are patches of standing water and very soft ground on the manoeuvring areas.
The area around the fuel pumps has recently had land drains installed. The narrow backfilled trenches that remain may contain softer soil, stone chippings or undulations until the grass grows back through. If you cross the drains do so with caution.
